Juneteenth is a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and marks when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people were freed.
Brad Lewis, one of the parade organizers and a co-producer of the Juneteenth Atlanta Parade, stopped by Atlanta News First to tell us what we can expect this weekend.
Thousands of people from across metro Atlanta met in the downtown area to celebrate Juneteenth, the official commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S.
