ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Great weather continues Thursday in north Georgia. The temperature will briefly dip into the mid to upper 50s late at night before rising to the mid 70s by noon. It will reach the low 80s under mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. It will stay quiet and dry Thursday night through Friday. It will turn a bit cooler on Friday with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
FIRST ALERT | Showers or rain possible in the middle of the Memorial Day weekend
We’re watching a storm system that will develop off the Southeast US coast Thursday into Friday. The storm may come close enough to bring rain for part of the holiday weekend. Sun will give way to clouds on Saturday with highs in the mid 70s. Showers are possible in the evening or overnight in Atlanta. Steadier rain may fall in east Georgia.
Sunday looks showery and cool. There is a First Alert for the rain and temperatures that may stay in the 60s for most of the day. The rain risk diminishes on Monday as the temperature warms back into the mid 70s. Seasonably warm weather does not arrive until the middle of next week.
