ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Showers are possible during the day on Wednesday with cooler weather in the forecast. It will not be a washout and the best chance of showers is in the mountains and in the morning. A east-northeast breeze will keep temperatures in the 50s in northeast Georgia and 60s to near 70 in the Atlanta Metro area.

There is a lower chance of showers Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Showers and thunderstorms likely return either Thursday afternoon or evening. Highs will be in the 70s on Thursday. Rain may be heavy at times Thursday evening/night.

A few showers or storms are possible on Friday, but it does not look like enough to warrant a First Alert. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s on Friday. The weather looks mainly dry on Saturday. We’re watching Sunday for a better chance of showers. It’s still possible the storm system will stay south of our area, so don’t cancel those outdoor plans just yet, but keep an eye on the forecast. It will turn cooler early next week.
