School closures, delays in North Georgia due to inclement weather
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Severe weather is causing some closures and delays in northern Georgia Wednesday morning.
Bartow County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
Clayton County Schools posted an advisory notifying students and parents that weather conditions may cause delays in bus transportation. If this occurs, parents may want to transport their students to school.
Valor Christian Academy in Alpharetta is closed due to flooding/damage. The school sent the following text message to parents: “VCA: Families, for the safety of our students and staff, we are CANCELING school today. The flooding is extensive. If you have a shop vac and live close to the school, we could use it this morning. Thank you.”
Gordon County Schools says it will be operating on a normal schedule today but canceled all home games, practices, and extracurricular activities for Tuesday.
Habersham County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
Polk County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
